In 1961 in the residence of Mr. Sebastião Risso, in the Street Major Pantaleão, nº 77, a movement of people touched for the solidarity spirit was born who served meals to the abandoned children of the city.
The movement extends and in 1965 the 1968, in Street Tiradentes, 405; Mr. Garibaldi Monteiro touched by the situation of the children, loans the building to give continuity to this work.
The “home of the Andradense Child “ ( in portuguese “Lar da Criança Andradense“ ) is born with the objective to support and to give assistance to the abandoned children.
This work was developed with much fight and difficulty by some followers of the Spiritism; in 1973 they ask for help to the Catholic Church. At this time some children remained in regiment of boarding school. The education was established in taking care of the well-being of the child.
Request of the presence of Sisters in the Home of the Child, in the Direction of Mr. Armando Ferraz.
Priest Teodoro, invites then the Sisters Oblatas da Assunção to work in this Entity by request of the Direction.
In 1977, the Home of the Child in the Direction of Mr. Ricardo Sasseron receives the Sisters Oblatas da Assunção. The Direction delivers the Internal Direction of the Home to the Sisters Oblatas da Assunção.
At this time the financial difficulties were great, impossible to keep a employees, the Entity depended very on volunteers.
In 1983 the Entity receives the donation of the "Casa da Francelina Augusta de Aguiar", where the Home of the Andradense Child is installed, the donation was made by Mr. Garibaldi Monteiro.
The Sisters thinking about a bigger educational formation, feel the necessity of classrooms. Sister Ângela, in the College MAVO in the RIJSSEN city - Holland, where she was the director, obtains resources for the construction of a new building, and in March of 1988 was inaugurated the “House of the Happiness” Sister Ângela Van de Laar .
In 1996 with the new Law of National Educational Base (LDB), the day-care centers changed from a service vision to an Educational vision. The Home of the Child adjusted to this new pedagogical proposal, aiming not only taking care, but Educating as a whole. The Psychologist, Josefa Rocha was contracted to develop a work of qualification and formation of the employees and parents. Today giving continuity to this work we have Psychologist Marcílio Cypriano de Oliveira.
The demand in the city to receive children above from 07 years was great and the Entities was not enough to take care of a bigger number. The Home of the Child seeing this situation, thinks of a New Section; that it took care of this necessity.
